Kenneth Grounds has more than 30 years experience in the creation and development of not-for-profit organizations. Since1986 when he joined McCormick Group, Ken has personally created and developed nearly 150 foundations for educational institutions, corporations, individuals, public institutions and regional and national associations. Ken and his associates have re-engineered dozens of foundations and associations including more than 80 non-profit corporate mergers.
Ken’s formal background is in education and corporate strategic planning. From 1974-1985 he was employed as Senior Strategic Planner and Assistant to the Chairman of the Primark Corporation (formerly MichCon) where he managed mergers and acquisitions and organized their corporate giving program.
In 2004, Ken became President and CEO of Educational Foundation Consultants (formerly a division of McCormick Group).
Widely interviewed and quoted, Ken is a primary source on non-profit corporate mergers, educational foundations and other charitable organizations and associations for the New York Times, USA Today, Chicago Tribune, ABC Evening News, The Chronicle of Philanthropy and other broadcast and print media. Ken was also the most significant contributor to Creating Foundations for American Schools (Dan McCormick 2001, Aspen Publications). He resides in New York City.
